Science

Helen Milnes started teaching at Wetherby in September 2008 and is the Every Child Matters Co-ordinator and Science Co-ordinator.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Teaching from Leeds University.  Helen began her teaching career in Prep Schools in Leeds and has also worked in Italy. 

Each year group in the school has a Science lesson every week. Boys have exposure to many different topics within the scientific spectrum whilst at Wetherby.

Reception classes study my Body, Light and Dark, and Materials.

Year One study Floating and Sinking, Forces, Plants, Magnets and Sound.

Year Two study Keeping Warm, The Solar System and Minibeasts.

Year Three study Electricity, Solids, Liquids, Gases and The Body (nutrition and health).
