Encouraging Excellence and Camaraderie

Our school is not just a place of exceptional learning and teaching, but a supportive, dynamic and creative environment in which our boys are empowered and inspired to explore the full extent of their abilities. The House System is an integral part of our school and gives each boy a sense of belonging on a personal level. It is also used to reward learners for their conduct and achievements across many aspects of school life, encouraging and reinforcing their commitment to positive outcomes.

All boys are assigned a house before they enrol at Wetherby School, including those that arrive midway through the academic year. They remain in their house for the duration of their enrolment.

Notting Hill and Kensington have separate House Systems in place, with four School Houses per site. At the beginning of the year, House Captains are elected by students and staff to provide a good example for their peers during daily activities and help lead school-wide events, such as the annual Sports Day.

Collective House Rewards

Celebrating Our Boys' Achievement

Boys receive House points for being a Wetherby Ambassador, academic achievement and demonstrating effort in their learning. They are given a counter to put in their House Collection Box and points are recorded on charts displayed in the boys’ classrooms.

Children attend year group assemblies, during which stickers and certificates are awarded to the House that has received the most points. The total number of points earned is presented on the House Points Display Board. Each week, a picture of the House Cup is placed next to the triumphant Houses.

The House that receives the most points by the end of the term will win the House Cup. Whole-school assemblies are an excellent opportunity for all students to gather together in celebration of their achievements and efforts. In addition to the autumn and spring end-of-term assemblies, the cup is also presented to the winning House at the summer prize-giving ceremony.
