Learning Support Team
The Head of Learning Support works closely with class teachers, as well as a range of other educational professionals, including dyslexia specialists, and speech and language therapists. Additionally, the school maintains strong links with external agencies and regularly consults with educational psychologists, occupational therapists, behavioural optometrists, dyslexic centres and play therapists to provide 360-degree support.
At Wetherby School, we understand that each boy learns in his own unique way. As experienced educators, our teachers recognise that differentiation in class is essential to ensure all learners achieve all they are capable of at each stage of their academic journey; therefore, when needed, they provide tailored exercises and adapted activities. All staff members receive ongoing SEND (special educational needs and disability) training and are actively involved in the identification of additional needs, pupil target setting and the assessment process. Across year groups, teachers periodically review boys' individual targets to monitor their progress and keep them on track.
