Drama

Drama is taught at Wetherby in Years 2 and 3 but the boys begin learning drama skills from Reception. After only one term in the school all Reception boys participate in the performance of a nativity play.

In the timetabled lessons boys cover use of voice, expressive use of face and body, mime, team building and trust games and in the final term of Year 3 the boys work on a play which they perform at the Tabernacle theatre with make-up, costumes, props, scenery and lighting.

In addition, during each academic year every class presents an assembly to the rest of the school and their parents and these often encompass aspects of drama. Drama is also used in a cross-curricular way in all year groups to enhance the learning in many subjects.
