School Concert

This week saw the much-anticipated end of term concert. The theme of the evening was America and, aside from being marked by Mr Elliott’s silly hat and bowtie, the boys gave us a real treat of a wide variety of different styles of music from across the pond. All four of school’s choirs were in operation, offering us music from the American musicals tradition, such as The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Grease. The debut performance from Wetherby’s newly-formed orchestra proved popular with all, as they offered us the classic popular pieces of the theme from Star Wars and Bill Haley’s timeless Rock Around the Clock. All the boys who played solos did so with the confidence and aplomb of seasoned performers. Our thanks and congratulations go to all the boys who performed and entertained their audience with a fun evening of music making.
