Year 3 v NHP

The Dragons continued their winning ways with a convincing 9-3 away win as George, Grayson and Casper all scored two apiece. Charles rounded things off with a neat finish. The All Blacks were super impressive as they won 8-1 with Lucian grabbing a hatrick, Paddy and Filippo scoring two each and Hendrik also finding the net. The Springboks were unlucky to lose 3-2 with their goals coming from Jake and Leo and the Wallabies also suffered defeat, losing 6-2 with their goals coming from Raphael and Benji.

Year 3 Football vs Caldicott

Wetherby got their season off to a flying start as they claimed four wins from four with some very impressive performances. The Dragons were rarely troubled as they won 6-1 with their goals coming from Grayson, Benji, George D, Casper and Charles. The All Blacks were a perfect 10 as they won 10-0 as Lucian scored 4, Paddy grabbed a hat trick and Hendrik, Pau, and Filippo all added to the tally.

The Springboks went one better as they won 11-0 as talisman Tom bagged seven goals, Dastan scored 2 and both Lorenzo and Sami took a goal apiece. The result of the day came from the Wallabies as they won 13-0 as Freddie scored six and James, who had been on loan for all of last year, scored five goals plus Oscar and Morris also found the back of the net.

A brilliant start to the term!

Year 3 Summer Fields Tournament

The Dragons, brimming with confidence, got their campaign off to a flying start as they won 9-0 in their first group game against Summer Fields B with Charles scoring a hat trick and Lucian grabbing a brace. Captain Grayson, Benji, George D and Casper also added to the tally.

Last year’s winners, Papplewick A, were up next who were a decent side and very well organised. The Dragons however, were on a mission and piled on the pressure as Charles scored the only goal of the game to win 1-0. The boys topped their group with an impressive 5-0 win v Eaton House and 6-0 Hawksdown House.

They played Garden House in the quarter finals and Charles found the net twice as the boys trooped into the semi-final. Christchurch School rarely troubled them as George D and Charles were on target, as they won 2-0. The Dragons made the final in pretty impressive form, for the 3rd time in three years!

Papplewick awaited them in the final, which turned out to be an extremely close encounter. It was 0-0 after full time, and with penalties looming it was up to the boys to bring it home. Papplewick put one of theirs wide, then Grayson, George D and George M scored all 3 of their penalties and won the cup for Wetherby! The boys were terrific from start to finish and didn’t concede a single goal all afternoon – what a wonderful tournament!

Year 3 Football v Eaton House

The first home fixture of the year produced some fantastic results as Year 3 continued with their fine form, and in some fashion!

The Dragons were 6-1 winners as Captain Grayson scored 2 and Charles, George and Casper all got on the score sheet! The All Blacks also recorded an excellent result as they won 7-2 with Filippo grabbing a hat trick and Paddy adding a brace! The Springboks and Wallabies both recorded the same result as they won 4-0, the Pumas won 6-2, Les Bleus were 3-1 winners and Azzurri rounded things off with a 3-0 win.

What an afternoon of football!
